Police believe a damaged car could help solve the mystery of a man missing for over year from his property in northern New South Wales.
Leslie Keating, 63, was last seen at a property on Ramornie Station Road at Ramornie, north-west of Grafton, on October 20 last year.
His daughter Briannon Keating travelled from Victoria to her father's property in November after he failed to make his regular phone call to her during his trips into town.
She said his two dogs were found dead on the property, possibly from starvation, as he had not been home to feed them and the animals were chained.
"I knew then that something was wrong as dad cared for his dogs,"Ms Keating said.
Strike Force Wellbank was established to investigate Mr Keating's disappearance, with investigators previously conducting multiple co-ordinated land searches on and around the property.
Police and State Emergency Service crews resumed searching at the weekend along the Gwydir Highway between Grafton and Glen Innes.
Police are looking into whether or not Mr Keating was struck by a grey Toyota Kluger.
The car was last seen on a fire trial in mid-November last year with extensive damage to the front passenger side.
Ms Keating said she hoped the recent police search would provide some answers to her father's disappearance.
She said her family was struggling to know what happened Mr Keating.
"I will never give up searching until I find my dad because I know he would never have done that to me," she said.
"I know in my heart the fact that he has missed now the second Christmas, I know that something has happened to him."
Detectives have released an image of the Toyota Kluger and are urging anyone with information to contact Grafton Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
