Siriyakorn "Bung" SIRIBOON

Letter from Bung's mother Vanidda - thanks
to Herald Sun -
"How is it even possible to put words down to how we are feeling?
I just want to know, just to know that you have life, is all I ask.
We don't need to know who you are, it doesn't matter what has happened in the
past, that person who has or might know what happened to Bung.
I forgive that person, whatever they do with me and I want them to make a
decision now, for the right thing to do.
But just to know you still have life, I just think about my daughter, she has
a future and is just too young.
Every day at home, I look; your room, all my mind and thoughts are for you.
I think your neighbours are so important, for people and neighbours to help
and not to turn a blind eye and to look out and help one another.
My birthday is coming up and I wish my girl to come back for me, that is all
I wish for my birthday present.
I just want to know what happened, if you were a mum, try and imagine for me.
It has been very hard, sometimes you have to step back and look at another
way to look or walk forward and I have to do this every day.
You would be my birthday present, I need you to be my present, the best
present, please come back.
Thank you every person who prayed for Bung and my family.
Thank you so much."
A BORONIA man is pleading for help to find his missing
13-year-old adopted daughter, Siriyakorn 'Bung' Siriboon.
Bung, who is Thai, was last seen by her mother Vanidda and father,
Fred Pattison, at 8.20am yesterday, before she left for school, the
Knox Leader
reports. Her parents raised the alarm with Boronia
police when Bung failed to return home from school by 4.30pm.
Mr Pattison said Bung walked the 10 minute route to Boronia Heights
College each day. He said it was "completely out of
character" for the "streetwise" teenager to disappear.
Police are still searching for the teenager this morning, after
her father issued a plea to find his adopted 13-year-old daughter on
Friday. Bung, who is Thai, was last seen by her mother Vanidda and
father Fred Pattison at 8.20am yesterday, before she left for school.
Her parents raised the alarm with Boronia
police when Bung failed to return home from school by 4.30pm.
Mr Pattison said Bung walked the 10 minute route to Boronia
Heights College each day. He said it was “completely
out of character” for the “streetwise” teenager to disappear.
“I had just got home from nightshift and she ate her breakfast
and said goodbye to us just like she normally does,’’ Mr Pattison said.
“There were no major arguments; we’re a close family.
‘’The school didn’t alert us to the fact that she had been
absent that day, so we had no idea she was missing.”
Bung and her sister Siriporn “Bang’’ Siriboon, 20, have been living in
Australia for four years. Mr Pattison said Bung was not
fluent in English, but she could communicate effectively. “We miss her,
we just want her home safe,’’ Mr Pattison said. “She’s
gentle, shy; she cares about other people’s feelings.
“If she has problems or anything she’s dealing with, we want her to know
that she can talk to us about it. “If anyone even
thinks that they’ve seen her, call the police.’‘ Mr
Pattison has resorted to placing missing posters around Boronia.
He expressed concern Bung had started to meet new people through
online social networking sites. Bung is about 154cm
tall, has a slim build and long black her down to her lower back.
She was last seen wearing her blue check school uniform and a
blue school raincoat. If you have seen Bung, phone
Boronia police on 9760 6600.
Siriyakorn ‘Bung’ Siriboon, 13, has not been seen since she said
farewell to her mother Vanidda and step-father Fred Pattison at
8.20am last Thursday morning before she left for school. Members
from Knox Police met with the Knox Crime Investigation Unit
(CIU), which has taken over the investigation, this afternoon.
Knox CIU detective Sen-Constable Ian Brown said while there was
nothing to suggest Bung had been abducted, it could not be ruled
out. “At this stage, there’s no reason to believe Bung is not in
the area,” Sen-Constable Brown said. “We’re hoping for the best
possible scenario which would be she’s gone off with a friend.
“She might think she’s in trouble with her parent,s which is
delaying her showing her face.” Sen-Constable Brown said Bung’s
parents would be interviewed tonight. “They are obviously very
concerned as this is an act out of character for Bung,” he said.
Mr Pattison told the
Leader this morning that the lack
of information on Bung’s disappearance was evident and asked the
public to “keep an eye out” for his adopted daughter. “We don’t
want to know who or what or why or how, we don’t want to blame
anyone, we just want her home safe,” Mr Pattison said. Since
Leader
reported Bung’s disappearance on Friday,
our website has been used by people
posting messages of support for the missing teen.
Bung’s parents raised the alarm with Boronia police when she
failed to return home from school by 4.30pm on Thursday, June 2.
Mr Pattison said Bung walked the 10 minute route to Boronia
Heights College each day. The school did not inform Bung’s
parents that she was absent. Bung and her sister Siriporn
“Bang’’ Siriboon, 20, have been living in Australia for four
years. Mr Pattison said Bung was not fluent in English, but she
could communicate effectively. “We miss her, we just want her
home safe,’’ Mr Pattison said. “She’s gentle, shy; she cares
about other people’s feelings. “If she has problems or anything
she’s dealing with, we want her to know that she can talk to us
about it. “If anyone even thinks that they’ve seen her, call the
police.’‘ Mr Pattison has resorted to placing missing posters
around Boronia. Meanwhile concerned community members have
created a ‘Find Bung’ group on Facebook to spread the word in an
attempt to locate Bung. More than 500 people have joined the
group including school friends and strangers concerned for her
welfare. He expressed concern Bung had started to meet new
people through online social networking sites. Bung is about
154cm tall, has a slim build and long black her down to her
lower back. She was last seen wearing her blue check school
uniform and a blue school raincoat.
Sightings of missing Boronia girl
reported
Two separate witnesses say they spotted the
13-year-old in the morning and afternoon of June 2 - the day she
disappeared. Bung, who is Thai and can only speak conversational
English, has been missing for five days. Knox
Crime Investigation Unit’s detective Sen-Constable Rohan Bodsworth,
who is heading the investigation, confirmed a witness had spotted
Bung walking down Chandler Rd, Boronia - towards Dorset Rd - at
3.20pm. She was wearing her blue-and-white school uniform.
A second witness confirmed Bung had been seen walking
to Boronia Heights College on Mount View Rd, Boronia, on June 2 just
after 8am. Sen-Constable Bodsworth told
Leader there was a “missing piece of the puzzle” as to where
Bung was between the sightings and appealed for more witnesses to
come forward. “It sort of indicates she was
somewhere in the Boronia area on Thursday at least,” Sen-Constable
Bodsworth said. “We feel strongly that someone
in the local community would know where Bung was on that day.
“It seems likely that during this time she would have
been with someone. “If she was, they would
possibly know information as to where she is now.”
Det-Sen-Constable Bodsworth said the squad had a
number of leads on the case but “nothing concrete”.
If you have seen Bung, phone Boronia police on 9760
6600.

THE family of missing teenager Siriyakorn "Bung" Siriboon believe
she is still alive.
Bung's stepfather, Fred Pattison, said the family was not focusing on
Wednesday's attempted abduction of an 11-year-old friend of Bung, just streets
away from where Bung, 13, disappeared. Homicide squad chief
Det-Insp John Potter said there were some similarities between a digital image
of a man wanted for questioning over this week's abduction attempt and at least
two other images of men police want to speak to about other crimes.
One is a man police believe may know about the abduction and sexual
assault of an elderly woman in Clayton in February. The other
is an image of a man they want to speak to about the attempt to snatch a
16-year-old girl off the street at Ringwood East on Tuesday, June 21.
Insp Potter said detectives hunting for Bung were looking at potential
links to attempted abductions across Melbourne's east in recent months.
Police media issued a statement yesterday saying there was "absolutely
no evidence at this stage of any links between the recent incidents in Boronia,
Ringwood and Clayton". "We are not ruling out that possibility,
however to say the matters are linked is completely inaccurate," the statement
said. Several Boronia parents told the Herald Sun they would no
longer allow their children to walk to school. Mr Pattison said
his family was still plastering the area with posters of Bung and attending
their local Buddhist temple to pray for her safe return. "We still think she's
OK and she's going to come home and that's what we want to focus on," he said.
"We miss her and we want her back home. We want to stay positive and ...
that's what we are going to do." Bung was last seen in Elsie St
on June 2. Only a few blocks away, in Bennett St, a man wearing
a surgical mask tried to lure the friend of Bung into his dark green Holden
station wagon on Wednesday. The girl and Bung were in a year
five and six composite class at the local primary school in Boronia.
Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
