Appeal to find missing person David Stevens Brown

David Stevens Brown, then 33, was last seen by family in Lake Haven on October 27, 2001.

He has not been seen or heard from since.

Mr Brown’s disappearance was reported to Tuggerah Lakes police, who made a number of inquiries.

Police are now revisiting the investigation into Mr Brown’s disappearance and re-appealing for information from the public.

Tuggerah Lakes Crime Manager Detective Inspector Paul Laksa said any piece of information on the circumstances surrounding Mr Brown’s disappearance or his current whereabouts would assist detectives in their investigations.

“Mr Brown’s family are obviously very anxious to know what happened to him, as it is out-of-character for him not to keep in contact with his family,” Detective Inspector Laksa said.

“It has been over ten years and that is a long time to worry about a loved one – so we are hoping someone can shed light on his disappearance.’’

Mr Brown is described as Caucasian, about 175 centimetres tall, with a thin build, short brown hair and blue eyes.

He has a tattoo on his upper right arm resembling an eagle spreading its wings.

He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a t-shirt and carrying a large black and green nylon diving bag.

It is possible he has hyphenated his last name to Stevens-Brown.

He may also go by an alias of Dane Black.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
