Denny is described as being of Caucasian appearance,
about 177cm tall, of thin build, with short brown hair and a medium
complexion, with ear stretcher body modification.
Officers from Tuggerah Lakes Police District, Marine Area
Command, Surf Life Saving NSW, State Emergency Service and National
Parks and Wildlife Service conducted extensive patrols of the national
park, while Water Police and SLSA personnel used jet skis to patrol the
shoreline.
‘He is missing and we are greatly concerned for his welfare.’
A man has been missing from the Central Coast for nearly a month, and police
are appealing for public assistance.
Denny Kenneth Smith, 40, who is known to frequent Wallsend, Mannering Park
and Budgewoi, was last seen in Mannering Park on April 1.
Police were notified of his disappearance on Monday and began searching the
area, but only found his white Toyota Hiace van at Snapper Point carpark.
“Concerns are held for Denny’s welfare,” police said.
His sister, Jade Wolfenden, shared on social media that the family is
“greatly concerned for his welfare”.
“If anyone who knows my brother Denny Smith has seen him in the past 5 days
please contact me asap,” Wolfenden wrote.
“He is missing and we are greatly concerned for his welfare.”
His cousin, Mel Turner, also posted that she hadn’t heard from Smith and was
worried about him.
Smith is described as Caucasian, about 177cm tall, of thin build, with short
brown hair, a medium complexion, and an ear stretcher body modification.
He was last seen wearing surf-style clothing and Reebok shoes.
Police suspended Tuesday’s search at 12.30pm due to poor weather conditions
and will resume efforts from 8am Wednesday.
Anyone with information is urged to come forward.
