Marinus HENGSTMENGEL was last seen in 1960 when he went missing from his family home in Lavington, NSW, Australia.

Marinus (also known as Rinus), born in Rotterdam, Netherlands, in 1937, moved to Australia in 1954 with his entire immediate family. He remained a Dutch citizen even after relocating. In 1960, at the age of 21, Marinus left his family home in Lavington, NSW, and has not been seen since.

In 1970, Marinus’ family made inquiries about Marinus’ whereabouts as they hadn't heard from him since he left home ten years prior. Marinus is believed to have been working in Perth, Western Australia, in 1968 – 1969. Unfortunately, Marinus' family was unable to obtain any further information about Marinus' whereabouts.

Through the Australian Federal Police and their DNA program to help identify unknown and missing persons, Marinus' family decided to make a report at the local police station before they could get involved. On January 14, 2022, Marinus' family attended Albury Police Station to file the Missing Person Report.
