A series of pay calls have led police to appeal for dashcam or CCTV footage that might help find 43-year-old Joel Anderson, who has been missing since September.
A series of public pay phone calls has provided fresh hope of finding a man missing from the Mid-North Coast since September last year and led police to appeal for more public assistance.
Police are hoping three reported phone calls made by Joel Anderson, 43, after he was last reported seen on Gordon Street, Port Macquarie, at about 3pm on September 15 could unearth dashcam or CCTV footage to help their search.
Mr Anderson was reported missing at 11am on October 17 with police and family both holding serious concerns for his welfare due to the length of absence.
The three calls Mr Anderson is believed to have made were from Lake Road at around 2:20pm on September 17, Lake Innes Shopping Village Carpark between 9.30am and 3pm on the same day, and Pacific Drive, near Flynns Beach, around 1:30pm on September 21.
“If anyone has got footage in those areas whether it is on a property or anything they might have in a dashcam capacity I would strongly urge you to come forward,” Mid-Coast Crime Manager Detective Inspector Mark Rogers said on Thursday.
“It’s just a new lead at this stage. We are not aware of any suspicious circumstances but we will obviously keep an open mind.”
Mr Anderson is described as appearing Caucasian, 170cm tall, with a medium build and short, curly, strawberry-blond hair.
He is known to frequent the Port Macquarie and Kempsey areas.
Det Insp Rogers said Mr Anderson’s family were understandably quite concerned and upset by the prolonged lack of contact and information on Mr Anderson’s welfare and whereabouts.
