Missing woman, Beenleigh

Police are seeking public assistance to locate a 24-year-old woman missing from Beenleigh since December 18, 2023.

Nerressah Omaga, pictured, was last seen just before midday at a marketplace along George Street, and has not been seen or heard from since.

Police and family have serious concerns for her welfare as she has a medical condition, and her disappearance is out of character.

Nerressah is described as Asian, approximately 155cm tall with a medium build, black hair and brown eyes.

Police are appealing to Nerressah, or anyone with information about her whereabouts, to immediately come forward.

*14 years previously, when she was 10 years old, Nerressah ran away with her siblings. She ran away again when she was 15. I include these stories in case it is relevant to her current disappearance.

Missing siblings found

Maris Beck - The Age

Three children were found on Altona Beach, up to 21 hours after running away from their Laverton home.

Rashad, 13, Nerressah, 10, and Narrica Omaga, 9, were discovered missing from their shared bedroom this morning, when their parents went to wake them for school.

Their father, Richard Omaga, said: "We all went to bed and when we woke up this morning they were gone."
He said he wanted to tell the children: "Just come home ... just come home."

Acting Senior Sergeant Stephen Meehan said Rashad, whose mother died several years ago, had an argument with his stepmother on Wednesday night about playing an electronic game. Rashad had run away before, when he was 7 years old and living in Brisbane.

"Apparently he's pretty street savvy. He has done it previously, but he hasn’t taken his siblings with him before."

The children had changed out of their pajamas and into clothes, and had taken their school bags with them.

Police believe the children went missing between the time they went to bed at 10pm on Wednesday and 7am yesterday.

Police were searching streets, shopping centres, supermarkets, and railway stations in the Laverton area last night, and police were alerted that the children could have travelled to the central city by train.

The children were found at 7.30 this evening after police received information from a member of the public.
