Police have not ruled out foul play as the cause of a Shepparton man's disappearance.

Engin Ozdemir, 46, was last seen at the Shepparton train station on June 19.

Detective Sergeant Hilary Mark says his car was left at the station, and he may have left in a white station wagon.

He says they are very worried about him.

"We're urging either him ... or anybody, any member of the public who may know of his whereabouts, to contact Crimestoppers or us at Shepparton ... but there is always the concern that some foul play has occurred, but we certainly hope not," he said.

Police fear for the safety of a Shepparton man who disappeared almost two weeks ago.

Engin Ozdemir, aged 46, was last seen at the Shepparton train station on the 19th of June about 5:00pm (AEST).

Police believe he may have met someone at the station and got into their ford station wagon that was parked next to his car.

He has not accessed his bank account or used his mobile phone since.

Detective Sergeant Hilary Mark from Shepparton Police says the man's sister alerted them to his disappearance.

"It's not the way he normally behaves," he said.

"We have grave fears for his safety and I would urge anybody, the public or even him himself, to contact either Shepparton CIU or Crimestoppers to let us know that he's safe and well if he is."

The sister of a missing Shepparton man says she fears for her brother's safety and is appealing to the public for help.

The missing man, Engin Ozdemir aged 46, was last seen at the Shepparton train station on June the 19th at 5:00pm (AEST).

Police believe he may have met someone at the train station and say security camera footage shows a station wagon parked next to his sedan that he may have got into.

Detective Sergeant Hilary Mark fears Mr Ozdemir may have met with foul play.

"Since the 16th of June his account has not been accessed at all and we're concerned about that because it's not his normal behaviour," he said.

"There is always the concern that some foul play has occurred but we certainly hope not."

The missing man's sister, Hulya Ozdemir says he had a job interview on the day went missing and had arranged to meet someone.

"If anyone's seen him, please contact the telephone number, the police, me, anyone," she said.

"It's 12 to 13 days now and I'm worried too, there's no word of him."

Ms Ozdemir says she saw her brother the night before, and he appeared happy and normal.

Police fear he may have met with foul play.

Detective Sergeant Hilary Mark says Mr Ozdemir's bank records show welfare payments are still being paid but they have not been touched.

"He does have centrelink payments going into that account and previously those funds were accessed relatively quickly after the payment went into the account," he said.

"But since the 16th of June his account has not been accessed at all, and we're concerned about that because it's not his normal behaviour."

Police intensify search for missing Shepparton man

Homicide detectives have stepped up their search for missing Shepparton man Engin Ozdemir.

The 46-year-old disappeared on June 19. Police believe he may have met someone at the Shepparton train station, in north-east Victoria, on that day.

They spent yesterday afternoon at the train station in hope commuters may have recognised Mr Ozdemir, but had no luck.

Detective Senior Sergeant Peter Harrington from the homicide squad urges anyone with information to come forward.

"We do have grave concerns given the passage of time for his welfare," he said.

"We're keeping an open mind and we're hoping that he'll turn up safe and sound, but at this stage we're taking into consideration that he may have met with foul play, so it's very important that anybody that has information that can assist us, come forward and contact Crimestoppers."

Hopes fading for missing Shepparton man

Police say their hopes of finding missing Shepparton man Engin Ozdemir alive are fading.

It has been more than two weeks since the 46-year-old was last seen at his Carlise Court home.

His white Toyota Camry was later discovered at the Shepparton train station, but there has been no word on the missing man.

The Homicide Squad's Detective Senior Sergeant Peter Harrington says police have received very little information from the local community.

"Hopefully he is safe and well and we can locate him as soon as possible, but certainly with the passage of time and the uncharacteristic behaviour if you like surrounding the circumstances, certainly it is going to be a consideration that he might have met with foul play," he said.

"So any information would be greatly appreciated."

HELLS Angels bikies are under scrutiny over the suspected murder of a prosecution witness.

The homicide squad is investigating links between the motorcycle gang and the disappearance of Shepparton man Engin Ozdemir, 46.

Detectives believe Mr Ozdemir - who has not been seen for more than four months - was murdered in an ambush.

The Hells Angels had become part of the investigation because they had previously threatened Mr Ozdemir.

The missing man was a key witness in the prosecution of a Melbourne businessman on serious taxation and fraud charges.

Police say witnesses in that trial - including Mr Ozdemir - were threatened by interstate members of the Hells Angels and another bikie gang, warning them not to give evidence.

Mr Ozdemir and another man, who was later to testify by video link, went ahead with their evidence at a preliminary hearing.

The man charged was jailed for four years and was released from prison about a month after the disappearance of Mr Ozdemir.

Mr Ozdemir had helped the businessman launder money, set up shelf companies and open dodgy bank accounts.

Mr Ozdemir, who also went by the names Can Koray and John Koray, was last seen on June 19.

He left his home in Carlisle Court, Shepparton, just before 5pm, saying he was going to meet someone at 6.30pm about three properties he was to manage. His car, a 1990 Toyota Camry, was parked at the Shepparton railway station at 5.13pm.

Detectives suspect a late-model Ford station wagon parked in the next car space within minutes may be connected to the disappearance.

The cars were parked at the far perimeter of the car park, well away from the station's terminal. Security footage showed the Falcon left within minutes of the Camry arriving.

Sen-Det Steve Trewavas of the homicide squad said he believed Mr Ozdemir was not the driver of the Camry and it might have been parked there to give an impression he had left by train.

"There's a 20-minute period where something's happened," he said.

Mr Ozdemir has not used his bank account or mobile phone since vanishing.

Det-Sgt Trewavas said there were other possible motives for the killing.

Mr Ozdemir was a heroin and morphine user who dealt cannabis and prescription drugs in the Shepparton area.

"He had a lot of people coming around," Det-Sgt Trewavis said.

Mr Ozdemir regularly travelled to Fitzroy to buy heroin. He was believed to have owed money to several drug dealers and was badly assaulted about a month before vanishing.

He told friends he was forced to fire a shot to repel his attackers.

Mr Ozdemir's sister Hulya said she had contacted psychics to help find her brother, one of whom said he was alive and being held somewhere.

"He was a drug user but he was a diamond to us," she said. "I cry every night."

Mr Ozdemir is described as about 165cm tall, of medium build with short dark hair.

Victoria police are offering a $100,000 reward for information about the disappearance of a man, they believe may have met with foul play.

Engin Ozdemir, 46, was last seen at his house in Shepparton, in the state's north, in June 2008.

Police found his car a week later at the Shepparton Railway Station.

The man's sister, Huliya Ozdemir, has appealed for the public's help to find her brother.

"All my family is under a lot of stress because of this. We miss him a lot. It's been long time, it's been 21 months now. We want him, dead or alive. Please help us. That's all I can say," she said.

Police hope the reward could lead to new information about Mr Ozdemir's whereabouts.

Ms Ozdemir, says she wants to know if her brother is dead or alive.

"[It's] so it's very hard not knowing... everytime we get a phone call, we think it's him, [a] knock on the door, we think it's him, police ring us up, we think he's dead," she said.

Victorian police hope a $100,000 reward will lead to new information about the whereabouts of a man who disappeared from Shepparton, in the state's north-east, nearly two years ago.

Engin Ozdemir, 46, was last seen at his house on Carlisle Court on June 19, 2008.

Police believe he may have met with foul play and have offered the reward in the hope of catching the person responsible for his disappearance.

The man's sister, Huliya Ozdemir, says she wants to know if her brother is dead or alive.

"So it's very hard not knowing - 21 months, every time we get a phone call we think it's him, knock on the door, we think it's him. Police ring us up, we think he's dead. It's not one day, two days - it's 21 months," she said.
